In Your Dreams is a YA romance/action/adventure.

I wanted to create a YA heroine who kicks butt, but isn’t in a dystopian society.

I’ve also always been fascinated with disorders of the brain.

So I came up with the idea of a female high school basketball player who falls for a boy with narcolepsy (although his narcolepsy turns out to be something quite unreal).

My heroine, Zara “Zip” McKee is probably closest to my heart because she manages to do something well that I never could–play basketball.

I do. I work in higher education, and my job has affected my writing in that having a day job just takes time away from writing, editing, and publishing.

But I do get to spend a good deal of time around young people, so that definitely helps when writing Young Adult novels.

I’m working on the second book in the In Your Dreams series (no title yet), about the further crazy adventures of Zip and Kieran.
