Kris Allen continues on his radio tour, part deux. He performed (together with One Republic) for the 94.1 KTFM Woody’s Acoustic Lunch series at the Sherlocks Bar, San Antonio.
I’ll update this post as videos come in, so you know the drill, just bookmark and check back! Thanks to the fans (JadedCountessa, ygallagher) for sharing! There probably won’t be much media since this was essentially a private concert.

Adam Lambert’s fourth stop in his international promo tour for FYE is the UK! This is a huge market for Adam – so I do hope he breaks through. Adam will be back to being pretty much anonymous in the UK, and he’s only scheduled to do a bunch of regional radio gigs for his first trip to the UK (no TV yet). This is back to basics radio promo for Adam. And if his filter continues to be missing, I’m foreseeing a bunch of ‘gates’ again
So, you know the drill – just bookmark this post, and it’ll be updated as media comes in! Also, LambertWatchUK (official sony UK twitter for Adam) is a good account to follow for up-to-date UK news!
Here’s the schedule that we know of – Adam arrived at London on the afternoon of March 18 (where a small group of fans met him – here’s a recap), but nothing official was scheduled for the weekend leading up to 3/21. Presumably, he was having some private meetings with the bigwigs at Sony UK and maybe some press interviews at this time. Or maybe he had some *private downtime for a change (* the paps caught him hanging out with the Ronsons (dj sam & her producer bro mark) & looks like he met Boy George via a common friend or two at BG’s single launch party). But he did head off to Scotland from London in time to start his whirlwind radio visits come Monday!
Wednesday, Adam hit up Real Radio Wakefield, Galaxy Leeds, Pulse FM Bradford, and Hallam FM Sheffield (Sovisual filmed an interview for Halla FM).
Adam was at Birmingham on Thursday, BRMB, Galaxy, and Kerrang/Q at Lionel Street. In the afternoon, he made stops at The Eagle, Guildford then Gaydar, Twickenham.
Friday was Adam’s press day in London. In the AM, he was at the Heat offices (plus did a live webchat on Heatworld), and at The Mirror. Adam also met up with The Sun/NOTW and then The Star in the PM. And in a surprising promo event (for me), Adam was at the All Star Lanes (as in bowling), Bloomsbury Place also in the afternoon, followed by a visit to Capital radio pre recording bits for the album release promo. His day was capped by a dinner with a friend and a night out at Mahiki. I’m assuming that Adam will have Saturday off, then jets off on Sunday for Munich, Germany!
This isn’t for this March visit, but Adam is scheduled to have a performance at G-A-Y (Sat 24th April) to benefit Amnesty International. Also, for the brits, Adam’s AOL sessions are now available on AOL.uk!
I’ll post more as LambertWatchUK reveals more of his schedule.
“My favourite kind of dog is a Dachshund – a weiner dog, I think they’re really cute.
“The greatest song ever made is Bohemian Rapsody by Queen – theatrical, rock opera. It’s amazing.
“And… oh yes! I love my fans, they’re amazing and you can’t ever tell them what to do!”
I’M touring this summer and hopefully will be able to visit Britain as well.
It’s not going to be a fully-fledged arena tour because I don’t have a massive budget, but I’m going to give it as much production value as I can.
Intimate but flash shows are the plan, so it will look sparkly and glam and maybe there’ll be a bit of flesh too.
What were you doing last night at 11?
I was eating an amazing dinner at Hix in London with my Sony team. I had a great steak and a few glasses of red wine

The outrageous pop star told me: “I am single and mingling – and ladies you have a chance!”
Adam shares his manager SIMON FULLER with the Beckhams and is dying to meet DAVID and VICTORIA. He said: “I just want to stare at them looking beautiful. David is very handsome, I wouldn’t kick him out of bed.”
“I feel so lucky to have been granted true opportunity to work with some of the top producers and writers in popular music,” Says Adam. “This album is a reflection of their genius and the collaborative energy that they were gracious enough to share with me.”
“I feel so lucky to have been granted true opportunity to work with some of the top producers and writers in popular music,” Says Adam. “This album is a reflection of their genius and the collaborative energy that they were gracious enough to share with me.”
Yesterday, he jetted into Scotland on a whistle-stop tour to promote his new album and was delighted to strap on a 21st-century kilt for the Razz.
He said of his spiky sporran: “It’s like having a cactus – a little pet cactus.
“I’m not a true Scotsman today because I’ve teamed up the kilt with some plaid leggings – but I’d like to wear this back home in the US too.”
Starting off in musical theatre when he was just ten years old, Adam counts many of his idols and inspiration come from Britain. “All of my big influences are British, my favourite signers Freddie Mercury, David Bowie and Robert Plant; these are the people that I’ve always been drawn to,” Adam continued. “I have a feeling that a lot of the sensibilities both visual and sonically are ways that will appeal here, I think that people will understand it.”
In keeping with Scots tradition Adam dressed in a black kilt and tartan leggings, well perhaps not quite the true Scotsman. He did however dress accordingly for the occasion and loves the look: “I love it, it’s called 21st Century kilt and it has a little modern twist.”
Adam is a big fan of Scotland and would love to return in the not so distant future. “It’s beautiful here, we were driving through Edinburgh this morning and I am so fascinating by how historical the buildings are. There are buildings standing up in those streets which are probably older than my country, ” Adam added. “Everything is so beautiful, the weather is authentic.”
I too even felt the mania when I had a brief chat with him at the Boy George single launch on Saturday – his presence can definitley be felt in a room – that’s for sure.
So here’s the official word everyone – “For Your Entertainment” as a single is now being released in the UK on April 26th with the album following shortly on May 3rd.
BOY George poses with American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert as the ex-Culture Club singer films his new reality show….
The cameras followed him as he performed new single Amazing Grace in a London club in front of pals including Adam, 28. The series will be screened on VH1 in September.
Kris Allen continues on his radio tour, part deux. He was one of the performers at the 96.3 Spring Fling concert, Hartman Arena, Wichita KS
His set list was: Heartless/Gangsta’s Paradise, Can’t Stay Away, Before We Come Undone, Man in the Mirror, The Truth, Alright With Me, Is It Over, Red Guitar, Live Like We’re Dying. Allen fan christig428 was able to get quick videos on qik.com, but I’ll also be adding YouTube videos as they appear.

Crystal Bowersox – “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”
Let’s file this under “I listened to the sorry lot so you don’t have to” shall we? The short version is – if you are a Rolling Stones fan – don’t waste your $1.29 getting the AI covers. Nothing they did will compare favorably against the real thing doing your sentimental song favorites, okay? And somehow, majority of this crop decided that instead of rocking it out, the best way to cover Rolling Stones is to wimp it out by sucking out all the energy from (virtually) all the songs by converting them into lullabies or something. Imagine all that edge, bravado, darkness & in-your-face quality to the music of the Stones, and well, strip it all away, and you get the AI Studio covers. You could say that I’m unfairly generalizing of course, but basically, what happened was that I listened to the entire set one track after another and I got sleepy as hell. So WTF right? I got real sleepy listening to Rolling Stones songs… it’s a bizarre parallel universe right there.
Now, if you’re not really a Rolling Stones fan and have nothing to compare the covers to anyway – check out these tracks… For whatever it’s worth, I downloaded these three tracks in the end (mostly out of support for these finalists).
Didi Benami’s “Play With Fire” is much better recorded than live – I’m one of those people who can appreciate Didi’s quirky vocal tone and phrasing, even in the context of a Rolling Stones song. There’s just something about her voice that I find really appealing. She sounds stronger than usual here, and manages to infuse her vocals with a little ‘edge’ and intensity.
Siobhan Magnus’s “Paint It Black” is also much better recorded than live – Siobhan’s ‘scream’ is much more palatable in the recording for one thing, and she doesn’t sound as nasal as usual either. I do like the tone of Siobhan’s voice, and I’m looking forward to future studio tracks from her. She makes interesting artistic choices, and the moody & dramatic feel of this recording suits her.
Crystal Bowersox does a gospel-ized version of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”, and in this full length recording, she gets the chance to build up the song (that she didn’t get the chance to do in the truncated low-key live version). She’s ready for the big bad world out there right now – not sure how she’ll sell since she’s not Top 40 for sure – but she’s a pro already.
Casey James’ countryfied rock cover of “It’s All Over Now” and Lee Dwyze’s acoustic John Mayer-ized “Beast Of Burden” were not exactly my cup of tea, but I do consider their tracks the best of the rest, and these two guys sound like they could (at least) belong in today’s recording world. And in a bizarro way, if you don’t really care about lyrical context and all that – Tim Urban’s cluelessly happy reggae’d version of “Under My Thumb” might be appealing to some young people – my young cousins thought it was this pretty, cool, light-hearted song (which is all wrong of course, since this is ‘Under My Thumb‘! a creepy song about how an abusive man subjugates ‘his’ woman…) Michael Lynche sounds cheesy and dated singing “Miss You” – sort of Michael Jackson circa ‘Off the Wall’ time – but his version might have fans, I don’t know. The rest of the tracks made me fall into a mild coma, so I have nothing more to say

‘Rides a Dread Legion‘ by Raymond E. Feist is available for FREE download on the Amazon Kindle site. Just click here to download and save yourself $0.99.
Book Description:
The last remnants of an ancient advanced race, the Clan of the Seven Stars, are returning at long last to their lost homeworld, Midkemia – not as friends, but as would-be conquerors. Led by the conjurer Laromendis, they are fleeing the relentless demon hordes that are sweeping through their galaxy and destroying the elves’ vast empire planet by planet. Only by escaping to Midkemia and brutally overtaking the war-weary world can the last remnants of a mighty civilization hope to survive . . . if the Dread Legion does not pursue them through the rift.
The magician Pug, Midkemia’s brave and constant defender, is all too familiar with the Demon King Maarg and his minions and their foul capacity for savagery and horror, and he recognizes the even graver threat that is following on the heels of the elven invasion. The onslaught to come will dwarf every dire catastrophe his imperiled world has previously withstood, and there is no magical champion in all of Midkemia powerful enough to prevent it. Only one path remains for Pug and Midkemia’s clandestine protectors, the Conclave of Shadows: forging an alliance of formidable magical talents, from the demon-dealing warlock Amirantha, brother of Pug’s hated foe, and the demon-taming cleric Sandreena, to the elven Queen Miranda, to the warrior Tomas.
However, uniting enemies and bitter, vengeful former lovers will be no easy task, and even together they may ultimately be unable to turn the death tide. But a failure to do so will most certainly ensure Midkemia’s doom.
This special free edition includes an excerpt from Raymond E. Feist’s newest Demonwar Saga novel, At the Gates of Darkness.
