David Archuleta’s Christmas from the Heart Tour (Live Recording)

December 26, 2009 Leave a comment

So, David Archuleta recently just concluded his Christmas concert tour (last show was Dec 20 in NY) in support of his CD ‘Christmas From the Heart.’ The Christmas CD has sold very well, with the last reported sales total at 185,000 (per Idol Chatter)! Very cool… Guess I’m not alone in my love of Christmas music!

David’s December 17 concert at MGM Foxwoods Casino (Mashantucket, CT) was streamed live via Billboard – and you can still view the stream over on Billboard Concert LIVE if you missed it. Totally worth burning up your internet connection to view the whole shebang. David totally sings like a dream!

Anyway, thank you to an Archuleta fan (you guys rock!) who e-mailed me the link for an MP3 live recording from David’s Christmas tour. It’s a pretty good recording too, so don’t miss having David Archuleta singing Christmas songs live on demand on your iPods. (Direct DL link) Thank you to Muzikfreeke for providing the recording!

Listen to my fave one from the set – Ave Maria of course!

Here’s the Set-List – the first half has songs from David’s debut album, while the second half is from his Christmas album:

  • Waiting for Yesterday
  • A Little Too Not Over You
  • My Hands
  • The Riddle
  • Zero Gravity
  • Crush
  • Fields of Gold
  • Prayer of the Children
  • Melodies of Christmas
  • Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
  • Ave Maria
  • Pat-A-Pan
  • The First Noel
  • Riu Riu Chiu
  • Silent Night
  • Feliz Navidad
  • Encore : O Holy Night

Kris Allen @ the Disney Christmas Day Parade

December 26, 2009 1 comment

Merry Christmas! Kris Allen was one of the performers at the Disney Christmas Day Parade. He sang “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”

I’ll replace the video with a better quality one (the audio in this one is horrible) once it’s available. Found one with great quality! Enjoy!

I’ve mentioned before that I really love this song… And Kris sounds great!

FREE iTunes Download – ‘Winter White’ by A Fine Frenzy

December 24, 2009 1 comment

The iTunes Discovery Download of the week is ‘Winter White‘ by A Fine Frenzy! Click here to download for FREE!

Song Description:

Our Discovery Download puts the focus on a different genre each week, offering a free track we think is worth your attention.

Like most Christmas albums, A Fine Frenzy’s ‘Oh Blue Christmas EP‘ was recorded in the summertime. ‘It was sticky hot outside, but the songs did really put us in a Christmas mood,’ says A Fine Frenzy mastermind Alison Sudol. Her original ‘Winter White’ would actually sound good any time of the year, with its infectious handclaps, airy-toned guitars, and xylophone-sounding accents. But the determination expressed in her lyrics definitely convey a pre-resolutions end-of-the-year spirit.

* Just wanted to say I downloaded the album ‘Oh Blue Christmas EP‘ from iTunes and it’s a really good Christmas album – it’s very quirky and definitely non-traditional. It works even if it’s not Christmas, I think. Alison Sudol has a very ‘interesting’ style of singing, but I dig her vocals so much. Check out the track ‘Wish You Well‘ – it’s my fave! There’s like almost an Eastern / Chinese influence to its sound – I dunno, but it’s very very cool. Like drinking from this very fresh ice-cold spring after hiking for 4 hours … that cool ;-)
