Just so you guys know, the deluxe version of “The Resistance” came with a ‘Making Of’ documentary. Well, a fan just uploaded the whole thing up on YouTube… so enjoy! The videos are a MUST SEE!!!
Spinner.Com featured The Avett Brothers and this song way back in June and I was lured in just from their description:
‘I and Love and You,’ the title track for their new album, is a piano ballad soaked in folk flavor, crying “Brooklyn, Brooklyn, take me in.”
I was able to download a FREE copy from Spinner.Com (Link here). And I’ve loved this song ever since and have been very excitedly looking forward to a first listen on their album. Well, it seems I’m not alone as the Avett Brothers’ new album was recently featured on EW’s 20 Fall Albums We Can’t Wait to Hear.
Though the North Carolina folk-rock brothers have been quietly plugging away for a decade, their major-label debut, produced by studio legend Rick Rubin (Johnny Cash, Dixie Chicks, Jay-Z) may finally bring them the wider recognition they deserve; the plaintive title track alone (available on their MySpace page) is reason enough to be intrigued.
Well, the wait is OVER, thank goodness for NPR Music! which is featuring an EXCLUSIVE first listen of the ENTIRE album a week before the album drops. Click here to listen, and let NPR know what you think afterwards! I haven’t listened to the entire thing yet – 50 min 44 sec (!) – but definitely will. I’m trying to decide whether I’ll just get singles or buy the entire thing…
I just downloaded the first couple of episodes of Glee on iTunes (since I missed them when they aired). And now, can’t wait for Glee! Seriously, Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer) is becoming my favorite character in the series (second to Jane Lynch’s Sue Sylvester). I’m glad to see that apparently this episode focuses on him.
With its androgynous look and manga-inspired fashion sense, the electro duo La Roux inspires immediate comparison to ’80s groups like Yazoo, the Human League, and Blancmange. Already a big deal in its native U.K., La Roux (Elly Jackson and Ben Langmaid) caught the attention of the dance music masses stateside with appearances at Lollapalooza and All Points West.
“Bulletproof” is the band’s third single; it’s a strident message of individuality and self-confidence in an effervescent synth-pop wrapper.
Not quite sure if fun electo-pop is quite your style?
Well, why not sample “Bulletproof” by La Roux free of charge care of iTunes? Warning though : the chorus is liable be an earworm. And may cause you to shake your ass some and break it down
** I’ll be embedding each webisode here with the most recent on top, but do watch the videos at the official site. You can check out Adam Lambert’s videos at this link.
